Finding a pet-friendly hotel can be a real struggle. Many opt to leave their furry friends at home or in a kennel during a vacation, and it can be hard for both owners and animals to be apart for too long.
That’s why finding a pet-friendly hotel is so important! And it’s not as difficult as you might think.
Although we’ll only be discussing seven hotels in this guide, there are many more pet-friendly places to stay in St Louis. In this article, we’ll be covering:
- A selection of St Louis’ pet-friendly holiday accommodation
- The selling points — and downsides — of each one.
Let’s get into it!
Benton Park Inn
Benton Park Inn takes the two worlds of urban holidaying and countryside stays and combines their best aspects.
Located just across the road from Benton park, the inn’s location will afford you beautiful views without the inconvenience of being far out of an urban center.
No wooden outhouses or lack of hot water here!
Sitting around a half-mile from the St Louis city center, the inn has a wide variety of inner-city facilities. Plus, it’s easy to access from the I-55 or the old route 66, meaning that it’s not hard to get into or out of either!
Also in the area are the St Louis Zoo and the Missouri Botanical Garden. Both are great places to explore and keep you occupied on a good day!
And, if it’s raining, why not do a tour of the Anheuser-Busch brewery nearby?
Heck, why wait for a rainy day?
Breakfast is homemade and provided each day of your stay, no matter which of the inn’s three suites you stay in.
And there’s a room for every occasion, too!
If you’re looking for a fancy couples’ retreat, the Virginia Minor Suite offers a lovely view of the neighboring park, a double bed, and a whirlpool bath.
There’s a grand piano downstairs for the musically inclined or a big-screen TV in the common room if you’d rather relax with a movie.
The Inn is pet-friendly, however, this isn’t a blanket rule.
Dan, the owner of the inn, owns a dog — Rosie — who lives on the premises. Although Rosie is very friendly with other dogs, you’ll need to make sure that your pet is well-behaved and able to be around other animals.
Dan asks that you ring before booking if you intend to bring a pet, so that everyone is happy and comfortable.

The rooms are top-notch as well: their standard guestrooms feature a king-size bed and a desk and chair for business visitors. The room’s decor has a modernist aesthetic that ties the whole space together.
If you’re looking for something more, they also have suite options that include a TV and separate living area.
The Presidential and Cary Grant signature suites also live up to their names, with spectacular room conditions and wonderful views.

Moonrise Hotel
If you’re looking for an out-of-this-world accommodation experience, try going to the moon!
Well, the Moonrise Hotel, unless you’ve managed to get a seat on a rocket…
With a unique look, Moonrise is a good choice for those looking to experience something different from the typical hotel experience without sacrificing convenience.
It’s also a perfect choice for the eco-conscious traveler.
Moonrise powers all of its rooftop infrastructure using solar panels, and they’ve got free electric car charging facilities for overnight visitors.
Every room gets you a TV, coffee maker, and mini fridge, so you practically don’t even need to explore the hotel’s food options!
And they have a couple — the Eclipse Restaurant appears to be a touch hit-or-miss when it comes to service, but most guests have positive feedback.
If that doesn’t float your boat, try the Twilight Room for a breathtaking view of the city and night sky, along with drinks available until 2:30am.
The hotel is incredibly pet-friendly, too! There’s no weight limit and plenty of facilities provided for your dog or cat.
No need to bring your own bowls or litter boxes on this trip — save the luggage space and relax!
They only charge a one-time fee of $40 for cleaning after you check out, so it’s super affordable too.
A night at the Moonrise Hotel will set you back between $159–$220, depending on your choice of room.

Four Seasons Hotel Saint Louis
With the absolutely gorgeous views afforded from its rooms, plus the reputation from the brand, the Four Seasons hotel in St Louis is a great choice for any time of year!
Located right by the St Louis Arch, many of the rooms have views of the famous tourist attraction, so you’ll wake up to a reminder that you’re in a new and exciting place every day!
Plus, with a location so central, there’s so much to do!
Loretta Hall Park is only a few streets away if you want a place to walk your pet. Alternatively, Gateway Arch National Park is also very close.
The hotel also offers accessible rooms, although we’d advise that you ring ahead of time to make sure that your needs will be met.
The hotel is pet friendly, and provides dog bowls, water, and treats for your perfect pooch.
There’s also an optional dog-walking service, as long as you give them advance notice and aren’t hesitant to pay a bit extra!
However, it’s worth bearing in mind that the hotel’s website is a little coy about the exact rates and limitations on pets.
It’s possible that the pet fee is $75 per stay — with dogs and cats allowed as long as they’re under 100 pounds — but seeing as that’s not from the hotel’s website, it’s best to contact them directly for full rates and rules.
A room for two adults (without pets) will set you back around $450, or you can upgrade to a more expensive suite.
The one-bedroom luxury suite will cost you over $2,500 per night for the top-of-the-line option.

Drury Inn & Suites St Louis Airport
If you’re looking for accommodation that practically forces you into being on time for your flight, an airport hotel is great — and Drury Inn & Suites St Louis Airport is a perfect option!
With an indoor pool and on-site food options, this is a great location if you’re stopping for a layover and need a place to rest, or if you don’t want to have to do much travel unless you need to.
They also provide free, 24-hour transport to and from the airport — no taxis needed!
A variety of room options are available to suit families, friends, singles, or couples, so you’re sure to find something that’ll fit.
With attractions nearby including a rock climbing gym, an RC plane airfield, and the White Birch Bay Aquatic Center, there’s certainly a variety of things to do if you do decide to head out into the city!
Drury Inn’s pet policy is quite permissive, and you can have up to 2 dogs or cats in your room, as long as their combined weight is 80 pounds or under.
You’ll be charged a fee of $40 per room per day, plus tax, for each room you keep pets in. The only exception is if your animals are service animals, for which there’s no fee.
However, pets are not allowed in common areas, and you’re encouraged to take them on the stairs rather than in a lift when going to and from your room.
On average, a night at Drury Inn will set you back somewhere between $130–$180, without the pet fee.

Located under a mile from Forest Park, the zoo, McDonnell Planetarium, multiple walks, and several golf courses, whatever you can imagine doing in St Louis is practically available on your doorstep!

And let’s not forget the furry members of your family!
You can have up to two pets at the hotel for free, as long as each is under 80 pounds in weight. That’s a pretty great deal, and basically means that all you’re doing is paying for the parents on a family trip!

The Ritz-Carlton, St Louis
With a trail of awards behind it, the Ritz-Carlton St Louis is hotel accommodation near its finest peak.
The Ritz Hotel name is famous around the world, and its St Louis incarnation does nothing to disappoint.
With private balconies, personal TVs, and guest room desktops, your room is full to the brim with modern conveniences.
On top of that, the hotel boasts event space if you’re looking to host — whether that’s a wedding, a fundraiser, or something else.
There’s also a gym and luxury spa if you need to get your workout in while you’re staying here, or if you’re looking to indulge in a little R&R!
However, all of this does come at a hefty price point: one room for two adults will set you back anywhere between $450–$700.
However, with its central location, it could all be worth it. The zoo is around a quarter-mile away, and there’s a variety of other attractions also nearby, including a number of parks and gardens, as well as Forest Park Golf Course.
The hotel is pet-friendly, however, there are some stipulations.
Your dog or cat will need to be 40 pounds or less in weight and be well-trained and healthy.
When walking around public areas of the hotel, you’ll need to keep them on a leash or hold them in your arms. You’ll also need to ensure they aren’t in your room when housekeeping calls.
Bringing your pet along will also cost you an extra $125 per stay, which is non-negotiable.
