Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom
Address: Boise Mall, 350 North Milwaukee #1017, Boise, ID 83704
Phone: 208-321-0033
Whether you’re looking for a light lunch or a hearty dinner, Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom is perfect for you and your dog!
The eatery offers some classic American-style eats, such as burgers, salads, chicken wings, mac and cheese, and — of course — pizza.
No matter what your pizza preference is, Old Chicago will serve it to you. Think classic Chicago deep-dish pizza, a gluten free crust, more conventional hand-tossed ale crust, or a tavern thin pie.
Flavor-wise, choose from the more traditional such as their Chicago 7– topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, red onions, olives, green peppers, and mushrooms.
Or why not go for something a little more adventurous, like their Thai Pie, which along with three types of cheese, has chicken, mushrooms, red peppers, broccoli, sesame seeds, green onions, sweet Thai chili sauce, and teriyaki sauce!
If neither of these tickle your fancy, you can also customize your pizza! Go wild and make a culinary masterpiece with your choice of toppings, be it Italian sausage, artichoke heart, pineapple, or ground beef.
Old Chicago also offers some delicious beers to go along with your pizzas, and have a pretty decent range. Try a beer from one of Boise’s local craft breweries, or have a sip of something from elsewhere in the world!
When it comes to your pooch, they have a dog-friendly outdoor patio which just adds to the restaurant’s homey atmosphere.
Coupled with its friendly staff, Old Chicago is the perfect place to bring the family and the doggo, or to catch up with friends over a delicious and affordable meal.
BACON Boise
Address: 121 N 9th St, Boise, ID 83702
Phone: 208-387-3553
Opened by chef John Berryhill, who was voted as one of the ‘Best Chefs of America’ in 2013, BACON Boise is popular amongst locals, and one of the best spots in Boise for breakfast or brunch.
And it’s not hard to see why!
Their space is casual but modern, reflecting the restaurant’s hip take on American classics.
Grab a seat for you and your dog in their dog-friendly outdoor patio area and chow down on their mouthwatering menu.
Try their eggs benedict, poutine, or even their mac and cheese— which Food & Wine Magazine recommended as one of the best in the U.S.!
And, if you’re looking for something a bit sweeter, why not indulge in one of their massive bacon-topped cinnamon rolls.
True to its name, BACON’s star of the show is, well, bacon! In all its savory, crunchy glory! You can even try their signature bacon: Berryhill Bacon, maple rosemary, spicy hot, or candied.
Don’t know which flavor to choose from? Why not sample their different specialty flavored bacon by ordering their bacon shots!
If you’re looking to treat yourself with a drink, try their signature Bloody Mary, served with — you guessed it — bacon!
Their bacon is such a treat that, if you really love it, you can buy some ready-to-cook variations or precooked snack packets to bring home.
Your furry friend won’t miss out either — in addition to being dog-friendly, BACON also sells peanut-butter dog biscuits that your pooch will go wild over!
Hops & Bottles
Address: 1420 W Grove St, Boise, ID 83702
Phone: 208-345-6470
Hops & Bottles is one of Boise’s many incredible taprooms, but what sets it apart from the rest is just how dog-friendly they are!
With a couple of resident dogs and staff who actively encourage people to bring their canines, the place is frequented by fellow fur parents.
Even if you don’t have a dog of your own, you’ll more than likely encounter some friendly pups when you visit!
The taproom is not far from the Boise River either, which means that it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a beer after a walk by the river with your dog.
Although they’re certainly a big plus, dogs aren’t the only attraction at Hops & Bottles. Their wide selection of brews means that they always have something interesting on tap, or in their coolers. This makes Hops & Bottles a great place to sample rare locally-made craft beers.
Beverages here won’t break the bank, and with a small corkage for drinks from the cooler, Hops & Bottles offers an affordable way to try something interesting.
If you’re new to the craft beer scene and don’t know what exactly hops or malts or sours are, never fear! The staff are welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable, so just ask and they’ll be able to give you great recommendations.
If you’re not much of a beer drinker, they also have a selection of wines and ciders to choose from.
While the taproom itself doesn’t serve food, you can order in some grub from one of the many nearby businesses to enjoy with your drink.
With outdoor and indoor spaces, a laid-back atmosphere, and plenty of seating, this is the perfect place to catch up with friends and enjoy a brew!
Cloud 9 Brewery
Address: 1750 W State St, Boise, ID 83702
Phone: 208-336-0681
While there are many breweries to choose from in Boise, you’re bound to get something unique at Cloud 9 Brewery— the only organic-certified brewery in Idaho.
With their “nanopub” concept as well as beers and food made with locally-sourced ingredients, Cloud 9 Brewery is a popular spot with local beer aficionados.
If all that just sounds like a bunch of hipster adjectives, don’t stress! Just know that you’ll be sure to get a quality beer when visiting, as well as some delicious food to go along with it!
The bar has a constantly rotating selection of beers on tap, with the nanobrewery making 53 different styles of beer every year. This includes everything from classic IPAs to a smooth salted caramel stout, and even a sweet honey-basil ale.
If you’re not a big drinker, or have someone in your party that doesn’t drink, don’t worry— they won’t be missing out. Cloud 9 also makes delicious non-alcoholic drinks!
Try their house-made root beer and ginger ale, as well as their seasonal huckleberry grapefruit soda they make during the summer. All are made with the same care as their alcoholic brews!
Make sure to order yourself some food too. Cloud 9 offers delicious pub food such as burgers, salads, sliders, and tacos — all made from ingredients from local and organic producers — cooked to perfection.
Dogs are, of course, very welcome to hang out with their owners at this very brewery on their outdoor patio.

Their locally-roasted coffee is popular with locals, and you can also purchase beans (including decaf) for home.

For something a bit more hearty, try their breakfast sandwich, made with eggs, cheese, tomato, avocado, and aioli in a fluffy brioche bun.
With all their menu items costing around $10 max, Push and Pour is budget-friendly as well as delicious.
And when it comes to dogs, your furry pals are welcome both outside and inside at all of their three locations! Ideal!

JAVA Downtown
Address: 223 N 6th St Suite 110, Boise, ID 83702
Phone: 208-345-0777
Java Downtown is another great breakfast spot for coffee lovers.
A funky but still cozy spot with rock music playing around you, Java Downtown has the best relaxed vibes to start the day.
They have a great drinks menu, too, so you can relax and sip on their rich Mexican Hot Chocolate or down their classic Cup of Joe. If you’re finding it hard to choose, you can even combine them with their signature Bowl of Soul!
Think rich, chocolatey mocha, made with Mexican chocolate, and topped with thick homemade whipped cream — talk about divine!
If coffee or hot chocolate aren’t up your alley, they also serve different types of tea, smoothies, and freshly squeezed orange juice which all make for a great start to the day.
For food, their menu is no frills and simple, but very well executed.
Try their toasted bagels, or a buttery breakfast croissant with steam-scrambled eggs (the fluffiest eggs you can get!), cheddar jack cheese, and bacon.
For something lighter, grab one of their freshly baked muffins or a chocolate chip scone from the cabinet.
And when it comes to dogs, their outside patio is dog-friendly, so you can sip on your beverage outside with your pup!
Eureka! Boise
Address: 800 W Idaho St, Boise, ID 83702
Phone: 208-286-4410
For some flavorful and elevated takes on all-American classics at a hip and modern dog-friendly restaurant, try Eureka! Boise.
With locations all over the U.S., Eureka! is well known for their extensive menu. We recommend giving one of their burgers a go, all served with a Santa Carota carrot-fed Angus beef patty, sandwiched between two pieces of soft brioche bread.
There are plenty of options, too, including the ‘Eureka! American’, with American swiss cheese — more or less your classic American burger.
If you feel like pushing the boat out you could also go with the ‘Fresno Fig’, which includes fig marmalade and melted goat cheese. Or, really up the ante with the ‘28 Day Dry-Aged Bone Marrow’, served with bone marrow shiitake butter! Wow!
Despite the high-quality fare, it’s still a relatively affordable place to eat out at, and there’s a large selection of beers on tap.
If you’re not much of a beer drinker, the restaurant also offers cocktails and an equally large selection of wines and whiskeys.
As for your pooch, Eureka! Boise welcomes dogs on their outdoor patio area so you can get into your all-American meal and beverages al fresco— with your best furry pal by your side!
The Bottom Line
As you can see, there’s no shortage of wonderful dog-friendly eateries in Boise from brunch spots, to breweries, to cozy coffee shops.
While the majority are limited to outdoors only, you’ll still be able to enjoy the food and service with your pooch in tow.
Be sure to bring a dog bowl (there are some great collapsible ones on the market) and some treats with you, too— just in case your choice of eatery doesn’t have any available!
